  1. Examine the proton-decoupled carbon-13 spectrum and determine the functional group. Also determine whether the compound is aromatic or contains unsaturation.

  2. The proton spectrum contains two triplets at 2.3 and 2.6 ppm and two sets of very closely spaced doublets at 4.7 ppm. Make a list of the carbon fragments.

  3. The carbon-13 APT spectrum is given below. Use it and your other information to piece the molecule together.
